About

Product leader.
Systems thinker.

Engineering-trained. Outcome-obsessed. Human-centered at every step.

I specialize in turning fragmented data, workflows, and incentives into cohesive product systems that drive measurable business outcomes.

My work sits at the intersection of AI, data infrastructure, and enterprise platforms — where complexity is high, alignment is rare, and the cost of poor product decisions is significant.

I've Built

Ascension Healthcare2022–PresentAI / SearchHealthcare
AI-Powered Semantic Search & Provider Discovery Platform
Transformed legacy keyword search into an AI-driven discovery platform across 2,600+ providers in 19 states — driving 5× traffic growth and +31% search-to-conversion lift.

The Business Problem

A legacy keyword-based search system limited discoverability across 2,600+ providers in 19 states — failing to capture the complexity of provider expertise and user intent. This resulted in low search relevance, missed patient-provider matches, and lost appointment opportunities and revenue.

Key Product Decisions

  • Replaced keyword search with semantic + vector-based architecture, accepting longer dev time for step-change relevance
  • Prioritized accuracy over speed — critical in healthcare decision-making contexts
  • Scoped initial RAG implementation carefully to reduce hallucination risk in clinical use cases
  • Designed for dual use (patient-facing + internal analytics), increasing long-term platform leverage
  • Balanced experimentation with production reliability across enterprise constraints

What I'd Do Differently

Earlier alignment between clinical taxonomy and embedding models would have reduced iteration cycles. I would now front-load domain-specific data modeling before scaling AI layers.

02
Ascension Healthcare2022–PresentData PlatformFHIR
Enterprise Data Layer Services (EDLS) — Foundational Data Platform
Led product strategy for building the centralized data backbone of a nationwide healthcare ecosystem — enabling unified access across all patient and provider applications.

The Problem

Fragmented data systems across patient and provider applications limited scalability, consistency, and cross-product innovation. Teams were rebuilding integrations independently, creating a maze of technical debt with no shared source of truth.

Key Decision

Prioritized a FHIR-based standardization approach to ensure interoperability and long-term scalability across systems. This was a harder short-term path — but created compounding leverage across every downstream product decision.

Impact

Enabled unified data access across applications, unlocking faster product development and system-wide consistency. Became the foundational layer powering AI search, payer integration, and future digital products across the ecosystem.

03
Ascension × UnitedHealthcare2022–PresentPayer IntegrationHealthcare
Strategic Payer Integration with UnitedHealthcare
Led cross-organization product integration between Ascension and UnitedHealthcare — aligning technical connectivity with workflow-level user experience improvements across scheduling and data exchange.

The Problem

Disconnected payer-provider workflows created friction in scheduling, data exchange, and patient experience. Aligning a complex multi-organization environment required equal parts product clarity and stakeholder leadership.

Key Decision

Aligned technical integration with workflow-level UX improvements, not just backend connectivity. Drove accountability across a complex multi-organization environment, ensuring the integration created real patient and operational value — not just a data pipe.

Impact

Improved scheduling efficiency, reduced friction in cross-system data exchange, and strengthened the strategic partnership value between both organizations. Foundation set for future payer collaboration at scale.

Product Philosophy

How I think
about product.

Principles that guide every decision, tradeoff, and conversation.

01
Build systems that scale, not features that fragment. Long-term leverage comes from architecture, not output velocity.
02
Align incentives before investing in solutions. Most product failures are organizational, not technical.
03
Optimize for long-term data leverage. Every platform decision is also a data strategy decision.
04
Make high-quality decisions early, then execute with speed. Clarity up front eliminates expensive pivots downstream.
05
Use constraints as a driver for clarity, not limitation. The best product work often happens within the tightest boundaries.
06
Translate across domains fluently — from data science to executive leadership to end users. Ambiguity shrinks when language is shared.
